had quite some driving adventures in a little hybrid, w/ b&v + charlie in the backseat. good times.
congrats mr. and mrs. lieutenant commander silas lam. :) we remember when "kangshi" called on one of our ski trips frantically asking for dating advice. thought we'd never see the day. haha. lovely wedding, beautiful vows. moving reminders for us... was also great catching up w/ friends/acquaintances fm all over - dallas, houston, san antonio, austin, cali, ny, va...
too bad we missed amy z. (to tennis on the u.s. open courts!) who's playing for rutgers, right in the vicinity. she suggested a cool froyo place, wherein we found ... crack balls -- boba-like balls filled with juice instead of tapioca. crazy we and b&v bought back a lb. each of the passion fruit ones, of which some ... CRACKED (haha) ... on the flight back.
sunday was consumption day in nyc. coffee @ unnamed diner followed by dimsum w/ eric, t&i&c followed by chinatown ice cream factory (lychee, ginger, green tea, taro) followed by smoooooth dou hua at tiny (but popular) hole-in-the-wall followed by tai-pan (papaya, green tea, deep dish egg tarts + assorted sweets) followed by afternoon refreshment at dean&deluca followed by the new yogurt row on bleeker street: pinkberry, red mango, yogurtland, tasti d-lite. couldn't stuff ourselves anymore after the first two. :P minuscule walk-off of the gluttony in soho. and got to visit eric's church (umc, like y's back home) and buds.
came back to... more rain. week 4? oddly, the places we've been this month have had their own unlikely switcharoo weather. we're not complaining, though.
