fri. night we took yuee's japanese visitors from work to a h.s. football game -- plano east (grace's alma mater!) vs. lake highlands. turned out to be quite an intense and close game w/ two overtimes but finally, victory was the panther's: 38-37. the japanese guys seemed pretty amused. they also did their notorious ohhhhing&ahhhhing over the iphone as it's still to come in asia. :D game was played at murphy's semi-new tom kimbrough stadium which we've passed by numerous times and finally got to check out.
the luminous moon high above the arena reminded us that it's mid-autumn festival this month. happy moon caking, everyone! random trivia from g: taro was apparently the first food discovered at night in the moonlight, according to legend. thus, it was never to be omitted from the mid-autumn festival. :)
is it really october tomorrow?
we had legs (& calves & feet) o' gelatin to show for our past sat. 20k @ the tour des fleurs. :P was an enjoyable & scenic run, nonetheless... very similar trail with the dallas half, which was the last long run we braved together prior to ong coupledom. post-race, we meandered through arboretum's fall flora. refilled on too many liquids (vitamin water and sweet leaf tea were our faves); refueled on scrumptious samples (hummmm, larabars sublime).
finally caught ultimatum (bourne 3) after watching the previous two last weekend. definitely not disappointed though we both missed crucial minutes (y missed the intro waiting on coffee after a seeming withdrawal, g ran out mid a chase sequence due to over-hydration? :P).
on more serious notes...
christine c, you are most prayed for as you begin ministering in india.

from atheist to christian to small group shaker to sold out follower of Him. in a single year. we are encouraged and challenged upon remembrance of you.
sensing movement, initiative, change in our church, young adults, congregation...... a remix, revival of sorts?
relishing the pleasantly early autumn air w/ night riding (!) two evenings in a row this past week, after a lengthy hiatus from our mt. bikes. yuee picked up these sweet LEDs to light our nocturnal cruising. cycled 'round spots a-sprouting around us -- the java gelateria (!!), farmer's market, daycare, school admin center, the mega-complex near 75 ... eastside quietness & simplicity has been really nice, though, so the behemoth comings will be bittersweet.
we stumbled upon (well, y actually scouted for) celebration park, a gem we should've discovered earlier. it's a sprawling creatively-designed unique complex w/ an olympic-sized playground that we could BIKE through. perfect for practicing for narrow trail routes. never too old to play like children. :P
oh, thanks for the many "concerns" about the iPhone price decrease. ;D no, we don't regret getting one. and yes, we got our rebate. for the next delish apple consumption. prob by yuee. :]
we accommodated two unexpected guests last night. surprise company is always interesting.
we celebrated the under 30 half yesterday w/ a day of whimsy: the steering wheel note/card, a shoutout on/from our fave radio station, b-day bouquet to the office, fresh seafood, dark chocolate w/ raspberries. hear y (& his msg to g), powerfm sept 6 day sponsor. what 10 secs (times 4x) of infamy. yet ingeniously multi-purpose... =) and might we pull a plug to support 89.7 -- an awesome station lifting Him up through rockin music. both of us are proudly club 3k. :)
she muses that when he tries, he romances quite creatively. once a year? :D
to g's 28 years He's blessed and blessing... and to growing old together.
a la browning (and read @ our ceremony, we forget not), "the best is yet to be."
vicarious college life realized. it was a short-but-long weekend of crashing w/ some of our kiddos in the dorms, carefree chilling, no agendas, late nights, spontaneous whatevers. retreating a few stages back, for just a few days ... was tiring but yet paradoxically therapeutic. saw our kids in their campus environments and recollected studenthood community. y relished us passing as residents a few times... but definitely, we're getting too old for this. ;) nothing really went as planned but are we not accustomed to youthful chaos?
now it's back to work, to responsibilities, reminder beeps from our pda-ic phones, to our world of now, seemingly so removed from the place we left. not a bad thing, mind you.
a little nostalgia just was nice.
