here we are... yet again looking at another end of the month. and end of a season? though summer really never ends in august around these parts. ;-)
the past weeks have just been odds and ends occupation. ... yuee's short stint to s.f. for a con and grace's home alone survival which may not be the last ... looks like he might be traveling a bit these next months. spending time w/ out-of-towners and soon-to-be out-of-towners. we gave grace's girls a fri. late night slideshowing of photos through the years.... ended up watching it several times, just reminiscing, w/ scattered tears. in a peculiar, indirect, God-thing way, they are the reason we're together. they've seen the story unfold from the beginning, helped shape it, write it. off they are, for yet another chapter, far from us in physical presence, but always near to heart and in prayers.
but not too distant... yet! we'll be a-visitin' some of them, yuee's guys, and misc friends in austin this labor day weekend. we're looking forward to just being away.

bade our dcfc '07 seniors well last sat. @ our annual graduation banquet, w/ the last two weeks pretty much slaving away for it. mostly for grace's girls but for all the graduates, of course. :] it became intense... is there such a thing as event-zillaness? but as w/ all things, it came together in the end. her kiddies will be off in a couple of weeks. his kiddies have been off. she wonders, hopes if they'll be okay. he still wonders, hopes if they'll be okay. a lot of them have turned out more than okay, she tells him. now we pray and ... let go. guess in a way, it's a prelude to parenthood. much later on, that is. :D
so is this another ending of sorts? whereto from here? won't deny that the break is much needed... now can chase after passions even harder ... perhaps find new ones?
anticipating fall... where we'll be free, free, free as bees. :) has been a swelteringly busy summer. but it's been good catching up w/ ppl we haven't seen in awhile.
happy MORE birthdays! from 0 years to many years. congrats, to the wang's aug 3rd baby aiden. we thoroughly surprised dad kao @ a family dinner last weekend w/ the "IT" cake for his 55th. green tea sponge w/ red bean and taro filling, covered with his trademark beloved pistachios all around, and decorated w/ an EDIBLE comic superhero photo g created. it was too wow to eat but one bite ensures absolutely NO remorse in cutting it. :D thank you, again, angeline. the banquet cake was also great success. 3-tier fondant w/ vanilla+raspberry buttercream, choco+nutella, and taro+red bean and topped w/ an edible graduation cap and seniors' names written all over.
oh, he got the blackjack. 3g aside, he's disappointed and (im)patiently waiting for the next version of the iphone. she's still loving it. it's mobile art perpetually in the palm of your hands. ;-P
