of 24 in 2007. we've watched pretty much every show this past season together. no small feat for her lack of tv-watching. was a stellar final two hours this week and surprisingly, not too cliffhanger-ish. what will we do without you, agent jack bauer? :D
our medusa lamp gave way. well, actually, only the base. the 5 goosenecks hang like wilted flower petals. just goes to show... the core, the foundation of anything means everything.
the acts church is fascinating. but almost unreal today. can it be real? a profound conundrum of late.
welcome back mom and dad kao. happy 69th, dad ong.
oh, we're breaking in our grill this weekend.
so we officially missed a race. we've missed two flights, btw, since being wed. anyway, how we love dallas' perpetual road construction and incompetent drivers. :\ oh well, so we made it to the katy trail run a good half hour late but hey, early for the picnic/food! :p explored a bit afterwards. it's sort of a central park-ish place in downtown d. kinda.
countdown to dccyc. he's so proud of the multi-functioning web app it's become.
it's graduation time. congrats, grads! her girls are done. his first batch of guys are done. are we old? we are old.
met a long time, no see friend @ xiaomei and his newlywed wife of 10 months when it dawned on us. 11.11 - 5.11. .5 years it's been. doesn't sound all that impressive. it's been good, though. :]
won't get to celebrate in person w/ either mom this mother's day. both are half a world away. but both much loved, yes...
three decades, three years and a day old is he.
the beauty of simplicity. nothing big planned. we ate well, he got his red meat and oysters and chocolate mousse. tonight his guys brought him lion city and ... a durian cake! w/ his face on it. angeline is our heroine. :D top that w/ durian and green tea ice cream. non-durian lovers used the ice cream to mask the smelly fruit. was very pulpy! he's bringing the remainder to work tomorrow... to share? or scare?
wow, another year... to the next and all the next's beyond.
severe weather to the max this year. we're watching the news now with thousands out of power, struck lightning, fierce winds, pounding rain and the like. which is worse? this or tx summer?
who would've thought a yankee candle would collapse like that? it literally cratered last weekend. the white volcano flowed wax .... rather undesirably. but somewhat artistically.
more biking last weekend. perfect-o day. less mountain/terrain more city this time. we attempted to head towards lake lavon but farm roads kept us from. ms-150, maybe? found out too late this year...
her girls are all grown-up. from early adolescence to near young adulthood, we've moved with them. saw some of them off to prom last sat. w/ yuee as acting photographer. parental-like feelings weren't overwhelming but present nonetheless. they age, we age. w/ endless grace, of course. :)
is it may? it is may.
