happy father's day! all too blessed with our simple dads -- who require so little yet give so much.
last weekend, we rode the collin classic for the samaritan inn. started to feel the heat from the asphalt, then country roads, then gravel before 10am! good thing we opted for the 48mi cutoff. :-P pretty good ride, though, through quite a few rural towns -- great rest stations (saw some familiar faces & friends!), sweet (and challenging) rolling hills, and of course, an awesome charity.
y went for more heat this weekend: a saturday of beach ultimate frisbee in galveston under the beating sun. g's not quite that hard core...
after delay after delay after delay, an unexpected overnight @ LAX, but also a perhaps divine gospel-sharing appointment (enough to justify any change in our own feeble plans!), g's finally home with y. :)
already feeling the tx summer heat alright.
and after what's seemed like months, we got to go to church together. though we encounter strangers every single week, it feels like home. wonder if it's just a teeny, minute taste of heaven -- being with like-minded worshippers of our infinite, exalted God.
congrats to the newly mr. & mrs. c.lin and mr. & mrs. a.fan. :) looking to be a wedding'd out year...
we ventured out this weekend for an evening race w/ one of our clients. excited for the firefly run that has grown phenomenally in a year from 600 runners to 3350, probably one of the biggest in the area. it was pure madness trying to run, dodge, maneuver, and weave through a mass of people. y ran with an injured friend and g surprisingly sprinted to a 3rd overall female, 1st in division finish. it was crazy hot & humid but with not running for weeks, the adrenaline, huffing-and-puffing, out-of-breathness felt so, so good. we also applaud the cause, children's medical center, where g's sister was treated for quite some time.
ps: the city of allen is getting just about everything we could need, ask or want. :) y is especially excited about in-n-out (already here - but insane lines & wait times even after weeks of opening) and rudy's bbq (almost here), merely minutes away from us. yay for less cooking? haha.
