{ psalms 111 }
[1] Praise the Lord! [We] will thank the Lord with all [our] heart[s] as we meet with his godly people. [2] How amazing are the deeds of the Lord! All who delight in him should ponder them. [3] Everything he does reveals his glory and majesty. His righteousness never fails. [4] He causes us to remember his wonderful works. How gracious and merciful is our Lord!
amen and amen.
today was trotting with friends, long afternoon napping, just-the-two-of-us meals. different than years past but meaningful in its own right.
off to vancouver b.c. & whistler w/ kao fam in tow. we can't wait to witness john and dan's first snowboarding attempt. :) and mmmm, dimsum ... and shabusen (!), here we cometh.
do couples remember date of engagements? g did. for a brief moment in the morning. and then when the thought crossed her mind again, lifehouse's "you and me" happened to play. :)
will y re-serenade?
nah, he's out entertaining uk clients. :P
we went to a refresh dallas meeting together last week. refresh is a community of designers and developers in the area that are into media and such. but we'd say developers outnumber designers @ the meetings. pretty good front-end talk, though.
and last minute, we got to go to fusion last friday night to hear erwin mcmanus and donald miller! the two themes that still resound in our hearts: dreams & stories. robbie seay band was also there to lead in worship.
nice sometimes just to sit and listen.... be.
just kidding there. happy big two to us two. what's "happy"?
so it started rather down & out -- heavy rains, strong winds outside; a squabble last night that reared and worsened; and g losing her engagement ring just short of midnight!
indeed, marriage ain't always rosy. but we take the twists and turns as they come.... and remember the sacred covenant we have committed unto Him and each other.
the sun eventually came out today, we've reconciled and g found her ring buried under a mound of laundry.
2 to ∞ ...
ps: thanks for the all e-mail, txt and fb wishes!
y spotted g's ex-accord zipping around in plano the other day. the kid's mother was driving it! and grace's sanrio panda sticker was still happily affixed in the back. we had our moment of excitement and nostalgia talking about the incident. but yes, we are enjoying our matching his and hers blue babies.
the u.s. citizen half of us did vote. are we happy with the next president? ... either way ... just gotta pray for our country. of CURRENT residence. :P
happy mother/son b-days: mama ong & yuen in october and mama kao & dan in november. daniel had his first birthday party ever for his 21st, decked out with all his faves: dimsum yummies, hundreds of egg tarts and a 3-tier cake (flavors: white cake w/ taro + green tea w/ red bean + chocolate w/ blueberry jam) from none other than amazing pastry chef angeline! we had a durian cake delivered to mama ong. :)
recent work: table4|seniors. it was so fun doing this project w/ jason, one of yuee's old kids! yes, old, literally. he started with wedding photography and is branching out to high school seniors. we've seen him in all his elements -- from drumming to tiff's treats to ikea floor guy to exactly what we know he'll be doing 'til the day he dies: photography. he's got some awesome images and talent but more than that, we're, as always, excited to see those who've found their niche and calling in life and pursue it to no end. and thx for graciously letting us do some fun shooting and playing around w/ t4.
and ... drumroll ... we've launched durian papaya tree! the seeds were planted a few years ago but it's now finally sprouted. not sure where it'll take us, how it'll grow, but really just enjoying the rolling ride. oh, ask us for one of our cool pop-out dptree b-cards next time you see us.
truly, we feel we are so blessed to get to do the things we do, to love what we do and to live out loud the abundant life He has given.
